I have a notebook that has the titile, "Business plans, Goals and Outcomes for 2014". In this little notebook I have written down my goals for the year, put my thoughts on paper and pen.
A lot of books have been written on the subject of goal setting and you're probably have heard it a million times yourself. Set goals, write them down, set a date, take action. Thing is, the statisics show that only 5% of the population actually does it.
Are you a success?
In order for you to properly answer that question, I'll define success. Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. If you have a goal and it's written and clear and well defined using all the senses as much as possible, and you're moving toward that goal, you're a success already.
Because there's a law in the universe , like all the other laws of physics and science and of nature, such as gravity, are constant and never change. A person with a settled purpose must accomplish it.
The reason for this is that we become what we think about. Let me say that again. We become what we think about. The great wise men philosophers and teachers have disagreed on many subjects but on this one thing, they are in complete and unanimous agreement.
Listen to what Marcus Aurelius, the great Roman Emperor, said:
"A man's life is what his thoughts make of it."
Ralph Wlado Emerson, famous writer said this,
"A man is what he thinks about all day long."
William James said:
"The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind."
And he said,
"We need only in cold blood act as if the thing in question were real, and it will become infallibly real by growing into such a connection with our life that it will become real.
It will become so knit with habit and emotion that our interests in it will be those which characterize belief."
He also said,
"If you only care enough for a result, you will almost certainly obtain it."
"If you wish to be rich, you will be rich."
"If you wish to be learned, you will be learned."
"If you wish to be good, you will be good."
He continues though,
" ... only you must, then, really wish these things, and wish them exclusively,
and not wish at the same time a hundred other incompatible things just as strongly."
This was taken from an audi program called "The Strangest Secret in the World" by Earl Nightengale and it describes where I have been the last 5 years in my network marketing and online marketing world.
I started back in the fall of 2007 determined to make money online so I could get my wife home from her job that kept her away from home for long periods of time. I tried all sorts of things like, affiliate marketing, article writing, list building, blogging, you name it. Nothing seemed to work for me.
Then i got into network marketing and struggled there too. Jumping from program to program every few months. Nothing seemed to work for me. But I saw other people online having success, so i knew it was possible but I just could not figure out why it wasn't working for me.
My wife was getting very discouraged for sure. Thinking that i had lost my mind for doing something so long and having no results was crazy. So here I am now with my little notebook. Writing my goals and my purpose, purifying my purpose and finding my voice in the market place.
This is some of the core principles taught in the Empower Network community. Join the movement and join the people who have defined their goals, written them, who read daily, listen to audios of helpful trainings.
